Summer
Skiing
Skiing,
snowboarding and carving on the Hintertux glacier - the snow
is cold and the sun is warm enough to get a great tan. Up to
20 km of runs, the longest summer run is more than 2 km in length
and leads right to the large sunning terrace in front of the
Tuxer-Femer Haus. The halfpipes are prepared all year round,
too.
Sights
A visit
to the ancient Tux mill is also well worthwhile: every Monday,
the water wheels turn to grind flour the way it was done centuries
ago.
Other things to do: A visit to the Stoankasem alpine cheese
factory, the mountain farmer museum at the Ho1lenstein Cabin,
a farmstead community which is under historic preservation,
the parish church and chapels, the Cave of Spannagel, the ice
cave.
