The skiing in
detail
www.skiaustria.com,
Everything you need to know about
holidays
in Kirchberg.
Take all of the areas mentioned in the
story from Euro Ski Magazine and hook them up to the same ski pass that
includes Kirchberg, Jochberg, Aurach and Pass Thurn, and the result is
some very fine skiing indeed.
As a matter of fact the only
potential fly in the ointment here is the relative "lowness"
of the place which makes for a somewhat shorter ski season than
many locals would prefer.
But hey, I can remember skiing powder
on "the horn" as early as November, and enjoying beautiful
spring snow and warm sunshine on Pass Thurn in May.
And
no one would fault the snow record of the past two years now,
could they?
Kirchberg shares exactly the
same skiing slopes as Kitzbühel and its immediate neighbours on the ski circus umbrella, plus a nice "home base"
slope known as the Gaisberg.
It is here that beginners will first
"wobble" their way to competence, and here too that
"Europa Cup" ski races are held.
The combined resorts offer the
complete array of skiing for any standard and a heck of a lot
of off piste skiing too when conditions are right. Snowboarders
and cross country skiers will also be pleased with the possibilities
open to them in this.
